Coast and Castles Cycling Holidays
Self-guided cycling holidays along the Northumberland coast to Edinburgh
Coast and Castles, a 200 mile self-guided journey from Newcastle to Edinburgh, one of the classic bike routes in the UK, a stunning ride that is accessible to all. Travelling on the National Cycle Network Route 1 the tour begins in Newcastle where you follow the River Tyne through Newcastle to Tynemouth and the North Sea. From here you follow the coast up to the Berwick, past the many castles and exquisite coast line, and into the Scottish Borders. After crossing into Scotland you cycle along the glorious Scottish Borders to the town of Melrose and home of Rugby Sevens!. The final leg heads north towards the Scottish capital, through the lovely Moorfoot Hills where you get our first wonderful view of Edinburgh.
C2C - 140 mile coast to coast cycling holiday across Northern England
One of the first and still the classic coast to coast cycle route across Northern England. Starting in Whitehaven on the Irish Sea and finishing in Tynemouth on the North Sea, crossing 140 miles of beautiful northern scenery while riding on quiet country roads or traffic free off-road paths. Our advertised map shows the original and most popular route on the C2C, there are loops and side roads that can be added, including Wiggo's Way, which we can of course facilitate. There is also the option of finishing in Sunderland.
Coast to coast cycling holiday across Lancashire and Yorkshire
The Way of the Roses cycling tour takes place in the two historic rose counties of England, the red rose county of Lancashire and the white rose county Yorkshire. These two counties, who's biggest rivalry today is possibly cricket, are full of outstanding scenery in places like the Yorkshire Dales and the Lune Valley as well as historic towns and charming villages like York, Lancaster, Settle and Pateley Bridge. The Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way is a 130 mile challenging circular route which takes in all the major dales in the national park, providing a stunning route around the beautiful national park that is the Yorkshire Dales. A route signed throughout, which follows minor roads and passes through some of the most charming and picturesque towns and villages in the ‘Dales’ - places which are great to stop off for a brew or a nice cake.
