Day one starts in Matlockon the east of the Peak District and crosses the centre of the peaks via the High Peak Trailand the Monsal Trail. It begins with a climb up to Carsington Waterbefore joining up with the marvellous high peak trail, leading you north towards Monyash before turning east towards Bakewell. Take advantage of the opportunity to try one of their famous tarts with a cup of tea (or something stronger!)

Day twoleaves Bakewell via the newly built Monsal trail to Millers Dale. At Millers Daleyou turn north through open peak countryside towards Hope, where you again turn west. This then takes you past Peveril Castle and the Blue John Cavern – both well worth a visit – below the impressive Mam Tor before going north looping around Mam Tor through Edaleand onto Hathersagewhere you spend the second night in the middle of the Peak District.

After a good nights rest, Day three. After a good nights rest you now have a choice of going through the north-western villages of the Peak District or over Snake Pass. For Snake Pass, you take a lovely little loop around the Hathersage area before heading north towards the wonderfully scenic Ladybower Resevoir. After cycling around parts of the resevoir you then jump onto the aptly named Snake Road for the superb ride up and down to Glossop(please note that Snake Rd is a single lane A road so care is needed and is only for those with experience and confidence in cycling on such roads. It is open at the top of the pass so it can get windy and cold, therefore appropiate clothing is needed).

Or else you can take the western road, towards New Mills, passing Whalley Bridgealong the way before heading north through quiet local roads onto Charlesworthand Glossopwhere you can find some refreshments before we take you back to the start point and your trip home - or checking into your room and a well earned celebratory dinnner.
